Alfonso Monfardini’s posthumous permanent exhibition, arranged in the Sixteenth century rooms of Palace Valenti Gonzaga in Mantua.

Alfonso Monfardini, painter-sculptor (Mantua 1887 - 1965) On the 120 th anniversary of his birth, the masterpieces of Alfonso Monfardini have come back to Mantua, in Palazzo Valenti Gonzaga, where the artist already exhibited in 1920. More than 80 paintings and some sculptures, all unpublished works from the private collection Artioli-Mortari-Linardi, by one of the most popular artists in Mantua are permanently exhibited in the Gallery Museum Valenti Gonzaga in Via Frattini 7 in Mantua.
The Still Life is the most relevant work. It was exhibited in the
XXV edition of the Venice Biennale – In 1950 this work was selected by an authoritative commission of examiners composed by Felice Carena, Carlo Carrą, Felice Casorati, Giacomo Manzł and Giorgio Morandi.

In the Gallery and in the Camera del Figliuol Prodigo of Palazzo Valenti Gonzaga in Mantua was held the presentation ceremony of the winners for the 15 edition of the Giuseppe Acerbi literary prize.
